Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 3, 2026 · Last updated: July 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Clarion LLC, doing business as LocalMe ("LocalMe," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use localme.io and our related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
Who we are
Information we collect
- Provider account information. A provider's mobile phone number (used as the login identity) and profile details they choose to add such as name, business name, service area, trade categories, and optional price ranges.
- Project information. Titles, descriptions, city/state, completion dates, and photos. Photos are re-encoded on upload to strip embedded location (EXIF/GPS) and other metadata. Location is displayed at city level only.
- Client verification information. To request verification of a completed project, a provider may enter the mobile number of the client they served. We use that number solely to send the verification request (and a single reminder) and to prevent abuse.
- Usage information. Basic analytics about how the Service is used, to operate and improve the product.
How we use information
- To provide, secure, and improve the Service.
- To authenticate providers by sending one-time login codes.
- To send project verification requests and one reminder to the clients a provider selects.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and gaming of our reputation signals.
- To comply with legal obligations.
SMS / text messaging program
LocalMe sends text messages as part of the Service. There are two types of messages:
- Account login codes — one-time verification codes sent to a provider's own phone number so they can sign in.
- Project verification requests — a message (and at most one reminder) sent to a client whose contact number a provider entered, asking the client to confirm that a piece of work is real.
Message frequency varies based on your activity — for example, each time you log in or each time a verification is requested. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving text messages from LocalMe. Note that opting out means we cannot send login codes or verification requests to your number. Reply START to opt back in, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Consent to receive these messages is obtained directly: providers enter their own number to log in, and clients' numbers are entered by the provider who performed the work in order to request verification. We do not use phone numbers collected for the SMS program for any purpose other than delivering these messages.
How we protect information
How information is shared
We do not sell personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:
- Service providers (vendors) who work for us, such as our SMS delivery provider and hosting/analytics providers, strictly to operate the Service and bound by confidentiality obligations. Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data are never shared for third-party marketing.
- Public portfolio content. Information a provider chooses to publish — project photos, titles, city-level location, and a verified badge — appears on their public profile. Client phone numbers are never shown publicly, and endorsements are anonymous by default.
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
